These beautifully-made boards are handmade exclusively for Divertimenti by Robert Parker in Somerset. The Spalted Beech gives each board an incredible, distinctive appearance that makes it very much the centrepiece of any kitchen or table.
The board is made from a single piece of wood, rather than being spliced together. Each piece is hand selected by Robert and will be unique. The graining and pattern will vary on each board from the board illustrated here but will retain the unique beauty of the beech.
Using only locally-sourced woods, carefully stored for up to 30 years and kiln-dried by Robert in his workshop, the boards have been carefully designed by us, working alongside Robert, to be the perfect chopping and serving board.
The dimensions given for each board will be approximate and generally the larger boards will tend to exceed the measurements shown – Robert likes to use as much of the tree as possible once sawn, so the larger boards will typically have organic edges to the longer sides and err on the generous size.

To preserve the appearance of the top of the board, you could choose to cut on the underside and then turn the board to serve food.
Each Robert Parker board bears his initials, branded to the edge of the board, as a sign of their individual craftsman-made provenance.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after use and dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking any wooden board. To preserve the best appearance of the wood, treat with a food-grade wood mineral oil whenever the wood appears to be dry.
