Marimekko’s Räsymatto fabric is decorated with Maija Louekari’s beautiful black and white pattern, and it is made of thick cotton. Räsymatto, Finnish for rag rugs, depicts the texture of traditional rag rugs in a delightful manner.
Maija Louekari’s Siirtolapuutarha (“allotment garden”) and Räsymatto (“rag rug”) patterns tell stories about country life in an urban environment with a pleasant feeling of nostalgia. Originally released in 2009, the patterns have become classics of modern Finnish design.
