The Crate low table is part of HAY’s collection of wooden outdoor furniture. The rectangular Crate side table is characterised by its clean and balanced lines, which give the table an architectural and sturdy look. The coffee table matches perfectly with HAY’s pine Crate chairs, but also steals the spotlight as a companion to other patio furniture – try how the pine table would sit alongside HAY’s classic Palissade range, for example!
The first Crate furniture was designed by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1934. At that time, the furniture was made from leftover wooden shipping crates – hence the name of the collection. Today, Rietveld Originals and HAY use lacquered pine as the material. Finished with a weatherproof coating, the Crate low table is ideal for all kinds of outdoor spaces from the terrace to the garden and balcony.
