Audo Copenhagen’s Hashira wall lamp is a modern, stripped interpretation of a traditional Japanese rice paper lantern by design duo Norm Architects, Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen. The minimalist shade made from a linen fabric creates an intriguing contradiction: while it gives the luminaire its sculptural, column-like form together with the visible structure, it also diffuses the light into an extraordinarily soft and ambient glow.
