Description
Ariake’s Column chest of drawers is defined by the handles placed right at the centre of the drawers to create a vertical column when the drawers are closed. The beautiful black shade has been achieved using an old Japanese technique where the wood is painted with black ink, “sumi”. Practical and ergonomic aspects have also been taken into consideration: the chest, designed by Gabriel Tan, has been lifted up from the ground so that it is easier to reach the lower drawers of the chest. The chest has five smaller and two larger drawers.
