Description
Iwatemo’s VK kettle combines contemporary Finnish design and Japanese handcraft traditions in a fascinating way. Designed by Finnish Ville Kokkonen, the cast iron kettle is handmade in the Iwate prefecture in Japan. Ironware has been manufactured in the area since the Edo era, which lasted from the 16th to the 19th century and is often referred to as Nambu Tekki. Each step in manufacturing the iron kettles, from the making of the moulds to attaching the handle, requires advanced skills and meticulous work. The small VK kettle is a stylish utility item that will last from generation to generation, both for its material and beautiful design language.
