Marimekko’s Räsymatto fabric is made of thick cotton and features Maija Louekari’s lovely pattern in black, yellow and grey. Räsymatto, Finnish for rag rug, depicts the texture of traditional rag rugs in a delightful manner. The heavyweight cotton has been printed in Helsinki, Finland.
Maija Louekari’s Siirtolapuutarha (“allotment garden”) and Räsymatto (“rag rug”) patterns tell stories about country life in an urban environment with a pleasant feeling of nostalgia. Originally released in 2009, the patterns have become classics of modern Finnish design.
